PRICES ARE FOR THE ENTIRE WINTER OF 2022/2023:
We sell our seeds wholesale at the same price that we pay for them (If you don’t believe me, ask me to email you a receipt). We do this as a service to the local community (West Little Rock/Paron/Ferndale) as we are a non-profit and love to see people (especially youth) get started in gardening and poultry.
We now have a wholesale program for chickens.
Hatching chickens, we get stuck with lots of birds in the winter because 80% of people are buying in the Spring. We get stuck with almost all the roosters. That is why we elected to not hatch past September.
Rare chickens do not sell near as well as common breeds so we carry common breeds as we would go bankrupt just selling rare breeds.
For common breeds, most people want them for egg laying and nothing else. 99% of people calling us ask about hens and ask us about common breeds. Very few people want roosters or rare breeds.
We have an awesome opportunity to partner with a well-known hatchery to buy day old PULLETS at wholesale prices. Common breeds such as Australorp, Rhode Island Red, Easter Egger, etc.. would be $3.25-3.95 each.
Guineas/turkeys/geese/ducks would be around $5 and up. Rare breeds, geese, turkey, ducks, and guineas are straight run. Common breeds are sexed as pullets.
These would be the same common breeds that we carry–only sexed pullets instead of the straight runs that we hatch. They would be hatchery quality but also better layers than our standard breeds and show breeds–which is what most people appear to be looking for.
They have minimal winter orders as they do not hatch much in the winter. 100 chickens or more, it is free shipping.
Doing this eliminates you and I both getting stuck with roosters from the common straight run hatches.
Ordering ahead, you would get your pullets at cost but you would have to pay $1 per chick up front to hold them. In the Spring, once they came in, you would need to pay the difference to pick them up. If you do not show, you forfeit that $1 per bird.
Anyone that did not order ahead would be paying $5.00 per bird plus $1 per week in feed after 7 days. That’s my normal price for the birds that I hatch myself. The only plus is you would get pullets instead of straight run like we sell when we hatch.
This sale only applies to common breeds that we order ahead. In the Spring, we will still hatch our rare breeds and sell them as straight run only starting at $5.00 each and up.
If you are interested, please send me a message before November and expect to pick up in February or March.
Minimum of 5 pullets. Not sure if I can order males (I forgot to ask).
We used to give out free chickens to kids and families in the community. You can see that in our blog page. I no longer do that because it costs me so much. If you are wanting to donate chickens to a local family and are willing to pay for the baby chickens, please send me a message as I will sell them to you at the wholesale price above. You can find the family or I can.
Note: We only do this in the winter. In the Spring/Summer, we hatch our own and sell them as straight run.
