HENS:
Young hens 6 months-12 months: $25-30 each
15-20 months old: $10 each
(By now, we have had time to get plenty of eggs out of them)
24 months old and up: FREE
(Hens drastically reduce their laying at 24 months of age)
ROOSTERS:
Pure breed roosters that I hand raised are $10 each grown.
Auto-sexed babies (meaning it’s a breed that we can tell the sex at birth) are $1.00 each at birth plus $1.00 each in feed per week. Rare roosters are more.
For most breeds, I cannot tell they are a rooster until they are several months old. I do not breed or sell mixed roosters.
Eating eggs $3.00 per dozen. They are refrigerated and will not hatch.
I do not sell hatching eggs anymore.
BABIES:
Straight run pure breed baby chickens that I hatch: $5 each
I feed medicated chick starter and I add $1 per week in feed to every baby chicken
I am not set up to ship baby chickens.
Rare breeds are more.
Standard or Heritage Birds: These came from possible show birds or a non-hatchery strain of chickens. Most are from lines dating back at least 10 years that never originated from a hatchery. They are all heritage breeds. They could lay less eggs than hatchery birds-even if they are the same kind. They are also slightly bigger.
Even if the parent birds are show birds, there is no way to guarantee the babies will be show birds. You won’t know until they are close to grown.
If you are looking for nothing more than egg layers, please choose a bird off the common list above as they are cheaper and lay better.
Update: 2023 was a record year for us. We had more sales, calls, emails, and texts than we have ever had in our history of raising birds. In January and February, we–along with most of the people on our available list– sold out of everything that we had and had to grow out more babies.
Stay tuned for 2024-2025……
