I sold the last of my 2024 babies/ hens in June and only have babies, young pullets, and roosters left.
Lavender Maran. Hen. She won 1st place at the County Fair in September 2024 (You can see her picture under the page that says OUR BIRDS). Almost 5 months old. Not laying yet. She will start laying at 6 months old but sometimes I see Marans wait a little longer to lay. $20 SOLD
Barnevelder. Rooster and hen. $30 for the set-must go together. Hen $20. Rooster $10. NOT from a commercial hatchery. Rooster has never attacked me (YET) but he is mean to the other chickens. He has attacked and broke the neck of two other chickens now–killing them–roosters only. He never attacks the hens. He would be dead if he was not my last Barnevelder rooster and I need him for the breeding set. They were all born around April 12-14, 2024 so both are around 5 months old. He should not be around smaller chickens under any circumstances as I doubt he gets any nicer.
Black Australorp. Born the middle of April so they are 5 months old. Pullets. $20 each. These are not exhibition birds. The Matching roosters are $10 each. They usually lay at exactly 6 months old. These may or may not go broody. SOLD OUT
White Leghorns. Born around June 30, 2024. 1 female left. $10 but she will be $15 the end of this month. She is NOT a show bird.
White Legorn Rooster: He was born April 20, 2024. He came from show bird stock. He just won 1st place at the Saline County Fair (you can see his picture under the Blog page). He is my loudest rooster and never shuts up. Do not buy him if you have close neighbors (unless you don’t like them 🙂 ). $15
Black Sexlink: Born June 30, 2024. $5 each at birth plus $1 per week in feed. They are autosexed as females. No males. 3-4 left. $10 each as of September 2024. I will up them to $15 on September 29, 2024 if they are not sold. These will NOT go broody.
Barred Rock: Born June 30, 2024. Pullets. Straight run. 3-4 left. Males are gone.$10 each as of September 2024. On September 29, 2024, they will be $15 each. These will most likely go broody and are great mothers. SOLD OUT
Buff Orpington: Born June 30, 2024. $5 each at birth plus $1 per week in feed. Straight run. 3-4 left. Female left only. The males are gone. $10 each. On September 29, 2024; they will be $15 each. These will go broody and be great mothers.
Easter Egger: Born June 30, 2024. $5 each at birth plus $1 per week in feed. Straight run. 6 left. $10 each. On September 29th (3 months old), they will be $15 each.
Rhode Island Red: Born June 30, 2024. $5 each at birth plus $1 per week in feed. Straight run. 3-4 left. $10 each until September 29, 2024. On September 29th, they will be $15 each.
Blue Swedish ducks. I am not good at sexing ducks but I think it’s a male. $10. He is lonely and needs a home with other ducks. He just won 1st place at the County Fair (see his picture under our Blog). He is too pretty to eat. He is my last duck for sale. He is over 3 months old–almost 4 months.
Wheaten Maran. A little over 4 months old. $20. Pullet. They were all born around April 12-14, 2024. One left as of 9-28-2024.
Cuckoo Maran rooster. Not a hatchery bird but he won’t be a show bird either. They were all born around April 12-14, 2024. $10
Brown Leghorn. $20. Not a hatchery bird but not a show bird either. They were all born around April 12-14, 2024. One left as of 9-28-2024. She won 2nd place at the Saline Fair 2024 so she’s definitely not a show bird. She’s a great egg layer though. Very skittish.
Blue Sexlink: Born 7-15/16, 2024. $5 each plus $1 per week in feed after 6 days old. Autosex breed so these are pullets. 8-10 left.
Barred Rock: Born 7/15 and 7/16. $5 each at birth plus $1 per week in feed. Around 5 left. $10 right now but they will be $15 each once they hit 3 months old.
Black Australorp: Straight run. Born 7-15 and 7-16, 2024. $5 each plus $1 a week in feed. Around 5 left.
Buff Orpington: Straight run. Born 7-15 and 7-16. $5 each plus $1 per week in feed. Around 5 left.
Silver Laced Wyandottes: Born 7/15/16, 2024. Straight run. $5 at birth plus $1 per week in feed. Around 7 left. SOLD OUT
Cochin Bantam: Only a few colors left. Born 7/15-16, 2024. $5 each at birth plus $1 per week in feed. $20 if you take all that’s left. I have 3 females left and 2 males left. 2 orange. 2 gray. 1 white.
Baby roosters FREE-this month only–up to 3 months old. Older ones that I have fed a bunch are $5 each.
Update 9-18-2024:
We had sold the last of our 2024 hens in June. Last night, we sold out of all of our pullets. We have nothing left to sell (except roosters ).
We will have a few baby chickens the middle of October 2024. None right now–those are all sold but we anticipate a few of each breed on October 16th.
I will not have anymore hens or pullets until Spring and this may very well be our last baby chicken set until Spring (we haven’t decided for sure yet).
We rarely hatch in the winter. Chickens don’t lay much in winter unless you force them–I don’t force mine with lights. People also don’t buy much in the winter and I get stuck with a bunch of roosters to raise. The expense of raising roosters that no one wants outweighs the benefits of selling a few winter pullets. If you are looking for roosters, I have at least 20-25 available. Pure breed. $5 each. They are 6-7 miles from West Little Rock.
